Once I was a fully independent young woman with a promising career working in my passion (helping others). The surprise emergency of a brain tumour instantly stripped my ability to continue work, drive, be right-handed, etc. Once I learned to walk again and switched to being left-handed, it was GAME ON to get better and love life! All the main stories that helped me stand back up like a new helium balloon are on my website. It’s been 15 years, and I’m tired of sharing my story. I need to move forward.
Recently, trying to find employment to top off my disability benefits has been exhausting. I am so very, very grateful for Paul Wagenaar and Life Directions. They are personally and professionally lovely. Paul is a very patient, kind, and resourceful person who works 1:1, meeting at my pace and ability. I appreciate that he mentors HOW to do things versus doing it for me.
I recommend this wonderful service to anyone with a disability looking for assistance in finding employment or creating their own. My biggest takeaway is for me to own my disability head-on when applying for jobs. I lost my full-time job, but I didn’t lose my identity. I should be proud and own it.

It’s a free job search service with professional people who work with you one-on-one. They help you with things like building up your weak areas and fine-tuning your strong points. They will also give you advice on how to handle a job interview and help you update your resume.
If you have Paul Wagenaar and Angela Lessard working with you, then you’ll be in good hands. They are the best and will go out of their way to help you any way they can with their wealth of knowledge in the job-searching field.

I’ve been working with Life Directions for quite a while now. They have been such a great support and have helped me build my confidence back up after a workplace injury. It is possible to work with a disability.
They also help prepare you to get back into the workforce, whether that be making resumes, writing cover letters, or just talking about interview questions, what you might get asked, and how you might address those questions.
I’ve really been struggling with what I was going to say or do after my workplace injury. That all changed when I was introduced to Life Directions. The people are super nice and help you feel comfortable.
Life Directions has changed my life. If you’re looking for some guidance and help, you won’t be disappointed.
They are a great bunch of people to work with. I’m extremely grateful that I had the opportunity to go through their program.
