How We Help
Job Seekers

How We Help Job Seekers

Everyone’s path to employment is different. That’s why we don’t start with assumptions, we start by listening.

We take the time to understand where you are right now: your goals, your readiness, your supports, and what success looks like to you.
From there, we work together to build a plan that reflects your strengths, addresses any gaps, and moves at a pace that makes sense for your life.

Our process is grounded in four key stages.

Our Process: Listening, Collaborating, and Moving Forward

Listening and Understanding
STAGE 1
We begin by gathering information that matters, your motivation, your goals, your supports, and any barriers that may be in the way. This includes everything from life stabilization and transportation to identifying the types of work you’re interested in. This step helps us build a clear, honest starting point … together.
BUILDING THE FOUNDATION
STAGE 2
Next, we focus on strengthening your tools and confidence. We explore your skills (including transferable ones), identify opportunities for growth, and support you in building a strong resume, preparing for interviews, and developing self-advocacy. Whether it’s certifications, digital skills, or networking, we help you create a solid foundation for success.
TAKING ACTION AND ADJUSTING
STAGE 3
With a plan in place, we move into action. Using structured tools like the Job Seeker Playbook and application tracking, we support you in actively searching for opportunities, applying for jobs, and building confidence along the way. We also recognize that job searching can be challenging, so we work through motivation, anxiety, and setbacks together, adjusting the plan as needed.
MOVING FORWARD WITH CONFIDENCE
STAGE 4
As opportunities turn into outcomes, we help you prepare for the next steps, accepting a job, onboarding, and succeeding in the workplace. Our support doesn’t stop at hiring; we’re here to help you maintain employment, navigate challenges, and continue growing in your career.

At Life Directions, this isn’t a checklist to complete, it’s a path we walk together. Wherever you’re starting from, we help you move forward with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
