Mental Health First Aid Training
LIMITED AVAILABILITY — REGISTRATION MUST BE COMPLETED DIRECTLY WITH KITTY HAWKRIGG. Adding this event to your calendar does not reserve a place in the training.
Physical safety is essential. Psychological safety is strategic.
This two-day, in-person Mental Health First Aid training will equip business owners, managers, supervisors and employees with practical skills to recognize and respond to emerging mental health concerns in the workplace.
Participants will learn how to:
- Recognize early signs that someone may be experiencing a mental health challenge
- Respond with greater confidence, empathy and understanding
- Reduce stigma and encourage earlier conversations
- Connect employees with appropriate help and resources
- Support a psychologically safer and more inclusive workplace
- Strengthen leadership skills and team resilience
- Help reduce the risk of burnout, absenteeism and extended leave
Mental health concerns can affect communication, performance, attendance, employee retention and workplace culture. Giving leaders and employees the tools to respond appropriately can help prevent concerns from escalating while creating an environment where people feel supported and valued.
The training is facilitated by the Canadian Mental Health Association Grey Bruce, and professional certification is included. The full cost of participation is being covered by Life Directions Employment Supports.
